OUR UNIVERSE

The Accademia Teatro Dimitri is a university theatre school based in Verscio, near Locarno. Not far from Monte Verità in Ascona, known all over the world for the experiences of the artistic avant-garde at the beginning of the 20th century, the territory of Terre di Pedemonte offers an incomparable context and atmosphere, a source of inspiration and beauty.

The Accademia Dimitri identifies itself with these three values that guide our steps and developments:

Body and movement

Body and movement are at the heart of the Accademias work and all its sectors – primarily teaching, but also research and the services offered to the region – operate and develop under the banner of Physical theatre.

The interdisciplinary lines of the Accademia support a deep and necessary anchorage of art with the cultural and social issues that cross the contemporary world. The geographical location and the origin of its students, teachers and researchers make it a crossroads where contributions from different traditions and cultural backgrounds converge.
