It is our great pleasure to announce to you, our nearest and dearest, some wonderful news: We’re getting married! Everyone one will be there, grandma, grandpas, the priest, the plumber, Sandra, maybe a elephant, the secretary, and even 2 or 3 of the brides. We’ll dance, we’ll sing, we’re trying to organise a badminton contest, did anyone remember to bake a cake? We’ll share our vows, we’re against using rings, and Michael repaired his lawn mower. Get ready for this glorious over-under ritual mixing tradition and dreams, exploding expectations, honoring love and absurdy. It’s our wedding and you’re invited!
The multi-facetted students of the Accademia Dimitri invite you to a wedding ceremony like no other. At the culmination of their 3rd year, they’ve taken the vow to show you the beauty of variety : a marriage of theater, dance, music and movement, a variety of traditions, a variety of styles, a variety of languages, a variety of stories. This mix and melange of sweet surprises turns dear tradition on it’s head in a wild ceremony for the whole family.
Do you take this chance to laugh and to cry, to love and be surprised? It’s enough to reply : “I do”.

Les Diptik was born from the meeting of Céline Rey and David Melendy during their Physical Theatre studies at the Accademia Dimitri. Since 2013, they have become a clown duo, pursuing their passion for the art of clowning and consolidating their complicity on stage.
Initially, Les Diptik dedicated themselves to the circus world, where they honed their skills and developed their unique style of clowning. However, in 2015, they began creating shows for black halls and adult audiences. Their performances became a blend of theatrical storytelling, poetic absurdity and wry humour, which helped define their artistic identity.
With shows such as “Hang Up” in 2015, “Poscriptum” in 2018, “Etcetera, etc.” in 2020 and “SEPTIK” in 2021, Les Diptik have undertaken tours in several countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany, England and Italy. They have taken their talent to both intimate venues and major theatres.
In 2020, their work was recognised with the Swiss Stage Prize, awarded by the Federal Office for Culture. This award confirmed the impact and originality of their artistic creations.
Céline Rey, born in Fribourg in 1986, is an actress, clown and co-artistic director of the company Les Diptik. In addition to her collaboration with Les Diptik, Céline has done other artistic activities as an actress in various theatre productions, such as the Origen Festival in 2014 and Les Karl’s bold alley show “Sector 1” from 2016 to 2018. She also worked with the Compagnie de l’Efrangeté in the show “L’Oeuf” in 2022-2023. Céline is also dedicated to teaching clowning and movement theatre, accompanying various creative projects as an outside eye or director.
David Melendy, born in California (USA) in 1990, studied the art of clowning at the Circus Center in San Francisco before graduating from the Accademia Dimitri’s School of Physical Theatre in Switzerland in 2012, earning both a Bachelor and Master’s degree in 2020. In addition to performing with Les Diptik, David teaches courses in clowning and slapstick. In 2012, he had the opportunity to present his individual diploma show, entitled ‘Fragile’, at the Theater Spektakel in Zurich. Subsequently, he participated in numerous international performances with Les Diptik, including Cirque Monti in Switzerland, Cascade in the Netherlands and GOP Varieté Theater in Germany. In 2016, he was part of Circus Fahraway’s tour in German-speaking Switzerland. In 2022, David took on the role of director for the show ‘Parole en l’air’ by the duo GingerMoustache.
Thanks to their dedication, mastery of clowning and unique creativity, the company Les Diptik continues to entertain audiences with unforgettable shows that blend theatre, movement and music.
