He was trained at the Zurich School of Theatre and studied Germanism, Anglicism and philosophy at the universities of Zurich, Bonn, Oxford and Cambridge. He holds a doctorate from the University of Zurich and the license venia legendi from the University of Witten/Herdecke.
He has been an Adjunct Professor at SUPSI since 2012. He was Senior fellow at the Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften (IFK) in Vienna and lecturer at the University of Witten/Herdecke and the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar. He has carried out numerous researches and publications on clown theory and genealogy, mask and theatre theory.
He is author and translator of manifold literary texts.
