Emma Görrissen

Year Robinia

I grew up in northern Germany, in Glücksburg, near the sea. For several years I was part of a circus called UBUNTU, doing acrobatic juggling and a bit of everything. Summer was always the busiest season because of touring with the circus. After school, I founded a company together with my sister, 'KOMMODE', which was subsidised by the Fonds DAKU. Later I developed a greater interest in the theatrical side of circus, let's call it 'Physical Theatre'. I did a school for Physical Theatre 'ETAGE' in Berlin. I gave circus workshops in Germany and Ukraine. In Hamburg I was an assistant in a production by Johan Simons at the Thalia Theater. I was chosen by the Armin Ziegler Foundation and received support to continue my studies at the Accademia Dimitri. I am about to finish a rich course without which I would never have worn a tutu. I have a clown act and a juggling act to perform.
