
Andrea Herdeg
Dance teacher
Andrea Herdeg is a dancer, choreographer, and educator who lives and works in Zurich and Locarno. Her professional training encompasses both dance and theater. She trained at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK. Since 2000, she has worked as a freelance artist in contemporary dance and dance theater. As a dancer, she has worked with companies in England, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. Her work as a choreographer includes creations for her company herdeg&desponds, which creates performances that blend live music and dance, as well as multidisciplinary works, commissions for community casts, and cultural and educational programs for young audiences. Herdeg is frequently invited to choreograph for theatrical and site-specific productions (e.g., the opening ceremony of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in 2016). She has been a guest lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and has been a member of the teaching staff of the Accademia Dimitri (SUPSI) since 2004.
