Accademia Dimitri at the gARTen Festival | 2–4 July 2025

We are delighted to announce that this summer, Accademia Dimitri will once again be among the protagonists of gARTen, the performing arts festival promoted by the Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro, taking place on 2, 3 and 4 July 2025 in the beautiful park of the Foundation in Figino.

Now in its sixth edition, gARTen has become a must-attend event in the summer cultural landscape of Italian-speaking Switzerland: three evenings dedicated to theatre, dance, music and community, where the park is transformed into an open-air stage and every corner becomes a space for creative expression.

With great pride, Accademia Dimitri will open the festival on 2 July with a curated selection of performances by Bachelor and Master of Arts in Theatre students, as well as by alumni who, after their journey at the Accademia, continue to distinguish themselves in the contemporary arts scene.

From the poetic acrobatics of Ettore Chiummo to the surreal musical theatre of Luca Lombardi, through the transformative delicacy of Mayu Shirai and the intense lightness of Maud Giboudeau, each performance of the evening reflects the diversity of languages, poetics and perspectives that have always characterised our artistic training. The programme is completed by the cosmic irony of Finn Meyer and Tim Frey, and the visual and sound experimentation of Lettoile, in a journey through imperfection, transformation and wonder.

There will also be space for dialogue and reflection, thanks to Radio Morcote International, which will cover the festival live with interviews and talks, and to the festival’s convivial food village, featuring local food trucks and the music of DJ leMox.

The festival will continue on 3 and 4 July with a rich and varied programme, dedicated respectively to the theme of sustainability and to the female artistic scene. Among the performers are also Andrina and Zoe, Fanny Déglise and Salomé Coquoz, alumnae bringing to the stage the fruit of authentic and personal artistic journeys.

gARTen 2025 is part of MAPS – Artistic Destinations for Sustainability, a project supported by Interreg Italy–Switzerland, which values collaboration between cultural institutions and promotes a participatory, inclusive and sustainable approach to the arts. Within this framework, Accademia Dimitri is honoured to contribute with its own pedagogical and artistic identity, grounded in the body, in play, and in the relationship with space and audience.

We warmly invite everyone to join us for these evenings of celebration, discovery and open-air theatre. Because art lives where it meets the community. We look forward to seeing you at gARTen!
