During the months of August and September, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Cordoba hosted Angela Calia, a professor, researcher, and dancer from the Accademia Dimitri.
The visit was organized by Professor María Mauvesín, a faculty member and researcher at our Faculty of Arts. Angela was welcomed by the University’s Rector, Dr. Ana Mohaded, with whom she discussed the planned activities and the importance of strengthening international ties between the two academic institutions.
Angela also participated in the event 'Meeting, Exchange, and Dialogue on Social Dance', an important occasion for dancers, teachers, directors, choreographers, and researchers in the field of dance, including dance theater and physical theatre.
Angela Calia is an interpreter, choreographer, and researcher, specializing in the languages of physical theatre, particularly dance-theater and research dance, as well as the language of videodance. She is also a professional in applying theatrical and dance practices to contexts and themes such as gender violence, memory of bodies and places, and the regeneration and narration of places through site-specific creation processes.
