On Thursday at 10:30 a.m., a special moment of encounter and sharing opens within Atelier 2025, a project born from the desire to bring into dialogue two fields that are only seemingly distant: theatre and quantum physics.

In this Atelier, theatre is not merely representation or storytelling, but becomes a space for observation, experience, and relationship. Just as in quantum physics—where the act of observing influences what is observed—on stage the body, presence, and gaze continually transform the reality taking shape. Theatre thus becomes a living laboratory, where space and time are not fixed elements but fluid dimensions, traversed by paradoxes, possibilities, and sudden changes.
Quantum physics, with its radical questions about reality, uncertainty, and the multiplicity of possible states, offers fertile ground for rethinking the theatrical gesture. Scenic action becomes an event that fully exists only in the here and now, in the moment of encounter between performer and observer, between matter and imagination. Within this interweaving, the body is both instrument and field of investigation—a place where abstract thought is translated into sensory experience.
The presentation on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. will also be an opportunity to share the collective nature of Atelier 2025. The project involves students from the Ernst Busch Schule, united by the curiosity to explore new connections between science, art, and performative practice. The plurality of perspectives and experiences is an integral part of the process: each participant contributes to expanding the field of research, questioning certainties and opening up new questions.
Atelier 2025 thus presents itself as a space of crossing, where scientific thought meets theatrical practice and where paradoxes are not resolved, but inhabited. An invitation to be surprised, to suspend the idea of a single possible reality, and to experience together what happens when the real begins to feel unreal.
Thursday, 18 December 2025 – 10:30 a.m.
Free admission
At: Accademia Teatro Dimitri, Verscio
On this occasion, Bachelor’s and Master’s students work in groups and present their projects, sharing with the audience the outcomes of a research journey that weaves together body, thought, and imagination. The presentations thus become moments of opening up the creative process, in which Theatre reveals itself as a living, experimental practice in continuous transformation.
