Our voice is an almost unlimited medium. The body is the place from which it emanates. Let's learn together to use these two elements in an expressive context, following a creative method based on exploration, play and improvisation. We will use the spoken, sung and free voice through individual and group exercises. The course is open to anyone wishing to develop their vocal and expressive abilities.
Tommaso Giacopini
Tommaso Giacopini is a researcher in theatre, voice and breathing. In 2015 he completed his studies in Physical Theatre at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Verscio (CH). He then moved to London where, in addition to completing a Master in Creative Practice: Transdisciplinary Focus, he lived and worked as a theatre artist for four years. With the theatre company Acrojou (Essex, UK), he tours through Europe and Asia, in a dozen countries. In 2020, he realises that it is not so much the work as a performer that interests him, but more the possibility of creating worlds through the multidisciplinarity of the theatrical arts. He returns to live in Ticino where he devotes himself to artistic research through vocal experimentation, writing, sound composition and yoga. After playing and producing music since the age of six, he completed a diploma in Sound Design (Point Blank Music School, London) in 2022. He founded Compagnia Tommaso Giacopini in 2018, with which he creates and stages the shows Noi Umani Amari Mari (2018), Il Fiore Oltre (2018-2019, co-production Teatro San Materno, Ascona, Ticino), Spògliati (2020, co-production Autunno Danza, Cagliari, Italy), and Dodici metri di apertura alare (2023, co-production Lugano LAC). Tommaso Giacopini and his company are also active in the world of sound performance with several radio productions for Rete Due, including Cammino (2022), Somnium (2023) and Ovunque l'ultimo (2024). Since 2022 he has owned the first centre in Ticino dedicated to the science of breathing, La Casa del Respiro, in Morbio Inferiore
