SUNRISE

ALBA, it’s the dawn before the sun gently rises, the moment that sets the tone

for the day. Against this backdrop of renewal, the piece explores the paths we

take, with varying degrees of awareness. With whatever we carry in our bags.

In which direction do we go?

ALBA is, in fact, a traveller who struggles to find her way. She gets lost, stops

and sets off again. Then one day, she wakes up and is overcome by something.

So she has to reconsider her route. This play is an ode to finding the strength

within ourselves and through others to navigate a chaotic world. To write the

score by hand, with our bodies, somewhat on the fly and in contradiction.

It is also about questioning our journey as Europeans, acknowledging our roots

and caring for our lands.
