ReANIMA – or ‘dying to be alive’

a circus and physical theatre piece about different perspectives on the process of dying.

»I am part of earth, that stands up and walk. And I will return to lie down when death arrives. I will be absorbed back into the land, greatful to have been part of this miracle – called life. « Lemi Ponifasio

Exploring radical physical transformations in the setting of a swing-boat fun fair ride, the performance inspires associations to the boat of the ferry Charon crossing the river to the underworld.

How to prepare for the process of dying, journeying to the other side? Confronted with small deaths every day, can we use them as rehearsals for the ultimate transformation in ‘the end’?

Is there even such a thing as a final end, or does it always entail a new beginning?

What if we consider dying as a continous process, that is running parallel to the experience of aliveness?
