This is a concert. Protagonist of this concert is a conductor.
Besides the conductor, there are televisions on stage and a camera that films. The televisions show what the camera films.
The camera is the visual narrator. It selects, directs the focus of the spectators, determines what is important and decides how things should be perceived. What is meant to be noticed and in what way.
The camera films what is there and also what is not there.
“The concert” is simultaneously a concert and a fictional documentary of a concert. What is filmed is partly what is intended for the camera, and partly what is not. It is a battle between the world inside and outside of the television screens, between the live film, the live action and videos that come from different times and settings.
The existence of the conductor is an absurd negotiation between controlling and leading the music and being controlled and lead by the music.
Who/what is conducting whom/what?
