SAS Bridge

The SAS Bridge is a tailor-made advanced study program, developed in collaboration with the Theodora Foundation.


The initiative is dedicated to “Dream Doctors” Senior collaborators from the countries where the Foundation is present: Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and England.

The title “Bridge” recalls the central objective: to create an artistic and technical bridge between Junior and Senior Dream Doctors, consolidating a shared artistic language approved by the Theodora Academy and the Accademia Teatro Dimitri.

The program takes place in two phases:

  • 5 days of practical and intensive training at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri;

  • individual coaching following a hospital visit, supported by a written assignment prepared by the participants.

At the end of the program, participants receive an SAS (Short Advanced Studies) certificate equivalent to 3 ECTS, issued by SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland).

Emmanuel Sembely – Specialized in the art of clowning in healthcare settings and trainer

Main teaching: integration, play and clowning, joy, inner energy, audience awareness, giving one’s best, entrances and exits

Contents and Objectives

The training course explores in depth:

  • the role of the Dream Doctor in healthcare settings, particularly in hospitals and pediatric facilities;

  • the exploration of improvisation and clowning as key tools of the shared artistic language;

  • the relational skills necessary to establish authentic and personalized connections with pediatric patients, families, and medical staff.

 

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • apply a shared artistic language within the Theodora Foundation’s world;

  • strengthen their artistic and technical skills, integrating them with the needs of the hospital context;

  • improve intergenerational collaboration between Junior and Senior Dream Doctors;

  • contribute more effectively to the Foundation’s mission, respecting its values and professional standards;

  • operate with greater awareness in their dynamic and impactful role within healthcare environments.
