Alice Shimizu
BA - Zaffiro Year
Alice was born in Milan in 2006 to an Italian mother and a Japanese father. At the age of six, driven by her curiosity, she began playing the violin at the ‘Accademia dei Piccoli Musicisti’ in Milan, where she passed three ABRSM exams (Grades 2, 3 and 5). As she grew up, she became increasingly fascinated and intrigued by the world of art, its vastness, its myriad colours and creativity.
So, in 2021, she discovered theatre alongside her love of music. Alice attended the “MTM Grock Scuola di Teatro” in Milan for several years, first on the Teenage Courses and then on the First Year of Theatre and Singing. During this time, she also had her first professional experience, taking the show “CircOnirico” by Album di Famiglia to Paris in collaboration with Dimore Creative and directed by Pietro Cerchiello. The show, which tells the story of a little girl who grew up amongst clowns, jugglers, tightrope walkers and strongmen, sparked her fascination with the circus arts.
These experiences led Alice, after obtaining her high school diploma in 2025, to enrol on the acting course “propedeutico intensive di recitazione ATTO UNICO’ at the ‘Scuola Proxima Res’ in Milan. Again with Proxima Res, she took part in the 2026 Immersioni Contest, winning the Eco di fondo’s Special Mention for the performance ‘Atomi della Memoria’.
Meanwhile, a desire gradually grew to complement her theatre studies with an exploration of dance and body language, which led her to enrol at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri.
