Gabriel Romero
MA - Year Barro
Also known as Gabo Caronte, he has been working in theatre, movement, and circus arts for over 10 years.
His ongoing research is focused on the articulation of a transdisciplinary stage language that combines physical theatre, circus, performance art, and object experimentation. Recently, he has developed an interest in magic, pedagogy, and creative collaborations with other researchers and artists.
In Costa Rica, he has been a co-founder and performer with independent companies such as Circo del Tercer Mundo, Los Gangarilla, and, more recently, La Nave de los Tontos. He has presented his work and led workshops in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Spain, and Italy.
Before starting the Master, he worked as the artistic director of the show “The Language of Clouds” (2024) by Circo Fantazztico (a social circus project in Costa Rica), which toured Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
In 2025, he participated as a physical performer in the piece Everything Is Going to Be Fine, directed by the Jukstapoz company for Accademia Teatro Dimitri.
For the upcoming summer (2026), he will join the new creation of Varieté Pavé, touring Switzerland.
