Gabriel Romero
MA - Year Barro
1993, Costa Rica
Gabriel is currently in his second year of a Master's program in Physical Theatre at Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland. His work focuses on the articulation of a transdisciplinary stage language that combines physical theatre, circus, performance art, and object animation and experimentation. True to his obsessions, he attempts to express his work from liminal spaces within the stage. Lately, he has been interested in pedagogy and creative collaborations with other researchers and artists. In Costa Rica, he has co-founded and performed with independent companies such as Circo del Tercer Mundo, Los Gangarilla, and more recently, La Nave de los Tontos. He has presented his work and led workshops in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, and Spain. In 2024, he worked as the artistic director of the show "El lenguaje de las Nubes" (The Language of Clouds) by Circo Fantazztico (Costa Rica), which toured Germany, Austria, and Switzerland during the autumn in Europe. In 2025, he participated as a physical performer in the piece 'Everything is going to be fine' directed by the Jukstapoz company for the LCFF of Accademia Teatro Dimitri.
