Helena Daniel

Helena is a performer and creator in making. They are a white, first-generation college-graduated person, raised in Germany and currently based in Switzerland. Helena’s moving body has been shaped by clubbing, contemporary dance, (contact) improvisation, body-mind-centering, and Feldenkrais. They work on developing a practice of performance-making that is informed by their experience in somatic research. They long to disassemble how bodies are inscribed by society, understanding bodies as archives, as well as sites of knowing, expression, subversion and liberation.The moving present and tender body is at the center of their work, supported by other media such as music, spoken word, video and objects.
