Romeo Henchoz
MA - Cimetta Year
Actor, playwright and social worker
Life is short, so Roméo has chosen to explore just two fields that fascinate
him: theatre and people. After completing a bachelor’s degree in social work,
he began developing his professional artistic practice in 2020, alongside his
work as a social worker specialising in addiction.
From the age of 7 to 18, he trained in amateur theatre and took part in around
thirty different productions. He became an independent actor at the age of 20
and has since collaborated with several Swiss professional theatre companies
(100 Doutes, Rapsody, Pan-Européenne, La Décharge). He co-founded the
new circus company “En Show”, where he explores writing, directing and
production. He also works as a director for other companies, such as Rapsody
(La Foire aux enfants).
Driven by this interest in theatre and people, he continues his research as part
of his master’s degree at Accademia Dimitri, focusing on the representation of
people affected by addiction. He also deepens his exploration of physical
theatre, mask theatre and object theatre, searching for new aesthetic forms
and theatrical languages. Perhaps a way to speak a little better (or a little less
badly) about theatre… but above all, about people.
