SUPSI

A SUPSI certified experience

In 2006, the academy, then called the Scuola Teatro Dimitri, gained recognition as a professional school affiliated with the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).

SUPSI is one of nine recognized universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. Founded in 1997, it was born out of the Federal Law on Universities of Applied Sciences and the Canton of Ticino's desire to strengthen vocational education in the region. SUPSI is divided into four departments: Environment, Economics, Education and Technology.

Between 2004 and 2007, four institutions joined SUPSI: the Accademia Dimitri, Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS), Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (CSI) and Schule für Physiotherapie Landquart (now SUPSI Landquart). Although private, they are integrated into the SUPSI structure and culture, maintaining administrative and financial autonomy.

Quality assurance

The academy shares with SUPSI not only its mission and values but also institutional mandates and a variety of educational and research activities. The quality of these mandates and activities is ensured through an ongoing commitment to the student and staff body and partners, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Within the Quality Assurance System established by SUPSI, quality is regularly assessed and developed through the monitoring of 22 priority processes, defined in the Quality Manual, which integrate all major areas of SUPSI activity as well as that of the academy. Internal and external process evaluations and biannual quality development reports ensure the continuous improvement of the system and each of its components.

Code of Conduct

Principles and objectives

The Accademia Dimitri is committed to respecting and protecting the personality and health of employees and students/staff, particularly by ensuring that no one is subjected to harassment or other attacks against the individual or group behavior. Any violation of personal integrity compromises an individual's well-being and health and is not tolerated in any way. This includes forms of discrimination related to gender identity, age, culture, ability and disability, and sexual orientation, as well as from bullying and psychological and/or sexual harassment (whether verbal, nonverbal, and/or physical). In line with these principles and goals, The Accademia Dimitri implements preventive and informational measures and actions, and establishes processes to be followed in the event that attacks against the individual or group actions occur. These processes are made explicit in special regulations, which describe the possible procedures to be followed in the event that a staff member, or a student, feels that they are a victim of discrimination, bullying or harassment, or witnesses to such act.
