APORIS: Master's Project by Jana Štofaniková

There comes a moment when everything hangs in the balance: we don’t know where we’re going, when we’ll arrive, or how. It is precisely in this space of uncertainty that APORIA, the master’s degree project by choreographer and performer Jana Štofaniková, takes shape.

A solo performance of movement and contemplation that does not seek answers, but embraces the “not knowing”. Like a paper aeroplane thrown into the void, the show accepts uncertainty as the only possible condition: what matters is not the destination, but the time spent waiting and being present.

Inspired by the Greek concept of aporia, the work transforms doubt into a lived experience, in which the body, attention and perception become tools for remaining in the present, without the need to resolve anything.

The project features movement direction by Nur Giménez Villarroya, lighting design by Lukáš Klíma and artistic supervision by Matěj Petrák.

APORIA is an invitation to pause amidst uncertainty, to let the present wash over you. It offers no answers: it offers an experience.
