Accademia Dimitri is thrilled to announce that some alumni from the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre will be performing at the Katapult Festival on November 16 at 8:00 PM! This evening will showcase a selection of original and profound performances, reflecting their talent and creativity.
"I hope that I live but I’m not sure this is life" – Emma Paul Görissen
A physical theater performance that explores the vitality and repression of existence through a unique bodily language influenced by involuntary movements, expressive gestures, and a touch of eccentricity. Inspired by figures like Maguy Marin and Kae Tempest, Emma offers a sharp reflection on the duality of life and death.
"Suturer le vide" – Les ORTIES Collective (Fanny Déglise and Salomé Coquoz)
This piece, inspired by the life and work of artist Niki de Saint Phalle, is a reflection on the marks childhood leaves on us, the shadows that follow, and the need to confront our inner "monsters." It invites the audience to discover how we become heroes or heroines when facing these challenges.
"He is alive, he has a soul; nevertheless, he is a thing" – Luna Scolari
Luna delves into themes of suffering and alienation, drawing inspiration from Simone Weil. The protagonist, Jeanne, seems to live in a fragile balance between routine and anguish, until something in her life disrupts this order, leading to an emotional explosion.
"A wise form of madness" – Nikoline Ryde
A brief yet intense physical-musical reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, focusing on the bond between Romeo and Benvolio. Through their friendship and pursuit of love, this piece raises questions about the nature of love and the meaning of caring for one another, with a lovingly ironic touch.
"Fare come mi pare" – Amélie Rüegsegger with Simon Huggler and Salomé Fischer
Amélie presents a reflection on individuality and the clash with social conventions. Milou, the protagonist, confronts the inner voices urging her to conform, and through a journey of self-assertion, discovers her own freedom. A blend of lightness and humor that invites the audience to ponder the theme of personal freedom.
